We recently moved into a new studio apartment recently with my cat Sylvester and expected him to have some anxieties upon exploring the new place.
After some time and care as he got more acclimated towards the new space and returned back to normal behaviors. One thing I did notice that I found to be unusual. My cat Sylvester would start meowing at the door, suggesting he wants to go outside (I took him out for walks at my previous place for several years). I was concerned about the additional anxieties incurred from stepping into the outside world right after a big move.
Either way, everytime I walk towards Sylvester to put his harness, he runs off into the opposite direction. It seems kind of playful maybe, but what was Sylvester trying to communicate to me? Any tips on how to help alleviate your cats' stress?
