I've had my cat Smudge (now 4 years old) since he was under a month old. He was orphaned, and i thought I knew him, but he's got one idiosyncrasy that confounds me. He hates to be picked up and carried, I get that, and don't subject him to it unless necessary. But when I begin to settle him back down, he seems to panic and scrabbles for purchase, sometimes finding it only body
He's never been dropped, or handled recklessly, so I don't know where this panic comes from. It doesn't matter what surface he's being put on, or how I do it, he seems terrified.Ideas? TIA.
