Can I use normal clumping litter for the double litter boxes where urine drains to the bottom?

  I was wondering if I make one of the double litter boxes where the urine drains to the bottom box, can I use my normal clumping litter ? Thank you

  I will try my best to answer you, but I'm struggling to picture what you mean here.

  You want to put two litter boxes one on top of the other? In this case, I presume the top box would have no litter and a hole and the bottom box would hold the poop and urine?

   

  If so, any litter should be fine to use in the bottom box, including clumping litter.
