Really Great Cat Litter (RGCL) is a low tracking, clumping, dust-free litter that disintegrates completely in water so that you can flush safely down the toilet. Delivered to your door, free shipping included.
Developed with both cats and cat parents in mind, we wanted to create a litter that truly did it all—no more sacrificing. As cat parents ourselves, we know that clumping clay litters are some of the most common litters on the market, but unfortunately, most cat people don’t know how dangerous these litters can be to cats if consumed. Not to mention, the number of litters on the market that are full of synthetic fragrances and chemicals.
We knew we had to provide cats with a litter that was natural and safe which is why we chose soy. Not only is soy completely safe for your cat, but it’s also environmentally friendly.
Here are the main benefits of Really Great Cat Litter (RGCL)
1. It's safer
RGCL is a safe cat litter that you can feel confident using for your cat. It doesn’t contain toxic or synthetic ingredients, it won’t cause any digestive distress if your cat happens to consume it, and it’s 99% dust-free so you can rest easy knowing you’re avoiding respiratory issues for both your cat and your entire household.
We use only five ingredients in our formula: Soybean Fiber, Corn Starch, Corn Flour, Guar Gum, Charcoal. Nothing weird, nothing you can’t pronounce, and nothing that is dangerous for cats or humans.

2. Mess-free (dust-free + low tracking)
We know you love your cat, but we also know that most cat parents don’t always appreciate the mess that comes with having a cat.
Between dusty litters, smelly litter boxes, and tracking throughout your house, cleaning up after your cat can become time-consuming.
Really Great Cat Litter avoids this. It's absorbent, low-tracking, and 99% dust-free. It also clumps easily for waste removal.
3. Less Odors
RGCL takes care of odors so you’ll never have to plug your nose while walking by the litter box again. We don’t use any synthetic fragrances or chemicals. Not only are these synthetic fragrances unappealing for humans, but they can also bother your cat.
4. Clumps easily
Many cat parents enjoy traditional clumping litter. They make litter box cleaning easy and mess-free, but unfortunately, they can be dangerous if your cat consumes the litter. RGCL clumps easily without any of the harmful effects associated with traditional litter.
This way you can keep both the litter box clean and your cat safe. If clumping litter is something you'd like to learn more about, check out our guide to the best clumping litters on the market.
5. It's flushable (no, really)
Cleaning the litter box has never been easier thanks to the totally flushable nature of our Really Great Cat Litter. Our litter disintegrates in water, allowing you to simply scoop and flush for a mess-free, convenient cleaning experience.
6. Eco-friendly
This isn’t always the first concern cat owners have when considering litter, but it’s a growing issue that requires attention.
Cat litter is a significant contributor to landfills. Not only because of how many cat owners are disposing of cat litter in the garbage, but also because traditional clay litter swells when exposed to water, making its volume even greater than what was originally disposed of.
RGCL is made from soybean product, which would have ended up in a landfill if it wasn’t used in our litter, making this product even more eco-friendly.
How to Introduce Your Cat To Really Great Cat Litter
If you’ve never changed cat litters before, we highly recommend checking out our full guide to transitioning litters, which will show you the exact steps you need to take, plus provide you with some helpful tips if you have a particularly picky cat.
Remember, cats are creatures of habit, and if you suddenly change their litter on them without warning, there’s a possibility that your cat will stop using their box, they might start having more accidents, or they just generally might seem more distressed. We want to avoid all of these scenarios, which is possible when you transition their litter using a slow and steady approach.
In general, though, here are some tips we recommend implementing when making the switch to Really Great Cat Litter:
- First, get your cat used to the Really Great Cat Litter bag: While you’ll want to keep the bag sealed for freshness, leaving it open near your cat’s litter box can help them get used to the idea of the product.
- Next, let your cat smell the product: You don’t have to dump the full bag into their litter box right off the bat. Instead, leave a couple pieces near the litter box. They might be curious or they might not, but just giving them the opportunity to check out the litter is a great start.
- Don’t forget: If your cat happens to consume the product, our litter is made from food-grade ingredients. Consuming the product is NOT harmful (although still not recommended for consumption over longer stretches).
- Remind your cat that this is litter: While slowly introducing Really Great Cat Litter is effective, don’t do this for multiple days. We don’t want to confuse your cat into thinking this is a new treat for them to eat. Avoid this by placing the litter near their box, and only doing this 1 or 2 days max. Any longer and you might confuse your cat about what they’re supposed to do with the litter.
Once you’ve given your cat the chance to get familiar with the idea of this new litter, it’s time to start implementing the transition.
Most cat parents find success by mixing their old cat litter with the new one. This helps ease the cat into the litter change. You can do this as fast or as slow as you want, but the goal is to always go at your cat’s pace. Don’t push things or you could end up with a cat who prematurely decides they don’t like their new litter without giving it a fair shot.
Over time, you should be able to wean your cat off the old litter and have them using Really Great Cat Litter without any fuss.
How To Use Really Great Litter
One of the things we like best about Really Great Cat Litter is that it’s SO easy to use. No more heavy bags, dusty materials, and headache-inducing fragrances. Out litter is clean, pure, and totally no fuss. Simply, pour, use, scoop, and flush. That’s it.
Step 1: Pour
As with traditional cat litter, you’ll begin by pouring the litter into your cat’s existing cat litter box. We don’t recommend switching your cat’s box and their litter at the same time. This can cause confusion and distress, which we want to avoid.
Step 2: Use
This part is all up to your cat, but lucky for you, because of RGCL's high absorbency rate, you’ll find that odor control is taken care of without the need for any harmful synthetic fragrances.
Because of its high absorbency rate, you’ll find that the litter doesn’t have to be cleaned as frequently, which cat owners usually appreciate.
Step 3: Scoop
This is the part of the process that we usually dread, but with our litter, we’ve completely changed how cat owners view the cat litter box cleaning process. Because of our tofu’s natural clumping abilities, we’ve made it easy for you to eliminate waste from the box without any mess. Our clumps won’t crumble, and you won’t have to worry about having cat waste falling apart as you scoop.
Step 4: Flush
We’re so excited to offer a totally flushable cat litter. With RGCL, you can simply scoop the waste as you normally would and then flush it down the toilet. Just be sure not to flush clumps that are bigger than a billiard ball.
Two instances where you should avoid flushing:
- If your cat spends time outdoors or is fed a raw diet, there is some risk for a bacteria called toxoplasmosis in their feces, so flushing should be avoided.
- Some municipalities and states (California, and some others) have bylaws against flushing substances down the toilet, so always be sure to double check your local regulations
