Tough and poor is the best and healthiest cat litter I found. Zero dust. No chemicals at all. Healthy for my cats respiratory and myself. One of the best things about the cat litter is that you can flush it it is easy quick no more having bags to take the used cat litter out of the house. Our kitten only knows Really Great Cat Litter. I like that we can flush it dow the toilet and we haven’t had any issues yet! I also love that it does not get stuck in her paws therefore it not getting on our beds, couches etc. I also love love love that there is NO dust!! I'm new to cat ownership and didn't understand why people were always saying cats were easier to take care of than dogs. My husband's cats are a complete delight and have made me into a cat-accepting person (I'm still a dog person!), but I could not STAND the litter box... the smell, the tracking, the cleanup. Yes, I'd rather pick up dog poo with a bag then deal with a litter box. Thus began my search for a solution.
Tuft & Paw is expensive, but no more than other new-tech kitty litter out there. We tried Skoon and while it worked well in the odor control category it required frequent replacement. If we didn't replace the Skoon litter every 7 days or less, it would reek even worse than normal kitty litter. The cats would refuse to use the litter box, and clean up was difficult when you're trying to hold your breath the whole time.
On the other hand, Tuft & Paw clumps into these giant sticky messes, but makes it easy to scoop daily. After finding a suitable cat litter scoop (one with long, narrow holes), we now have a kitty litter system that is low on odor, easy to scoop, easy to clean and replace; one that is low dust and low tracking. It does so well at odor control that we are replacing the litter every two weeks or so. We do need to top off the litter box every few days to maintain a nice layer. Still, Tuft & Paw has proven to be more cost-effective than competitor kitty litter since it lasts so long.

How long does one bag last?
Generally, one bag will last for one month with one cat. Keep in mind other factors may influence your usage such as the size of your litter box, how deep you fill it, and how often your cat(s) use it.
What are the ingredients?
In true tuft + paw fashion, we put your cat first. Our formula is simple with five safe ingredients: Soybean Fiber, Corn Starch, Corn Flour, Guar Gum, Charcoal.
If it clumps, then how is it also flushable?
A small amount of liquid will cause it to harden slightly, but submerged in water it completely breaks down
Is it septic safe?
We have lots of septic customers, it works fine so long as you flush in small amounts at a time, it completely breaks down in water.
My plumber said never to flush anything
It disintegrates completely in water so it's fine unlike other "flushable" products that are just marketed like that.
I thought that you weren’t supposed to flush cat waste because of Toxoplasmosis?

Does this work with self-cleaning litter boxes?
Unfortunately the pellets don't work with most auto litter boxes

Does Really Great Cat Litter expire?
When unopened, Really Great Litter lasts 24 months from its production date, as indicated on the bag. Once opened, the bag should be used as soon as possible to benefit from peak performance. Store sealed in a dry, cool, and ventilated space.
